One of the best selling Scottish books ever. The idea was Ron Grosset’s, and I’m proud to be able to say I wrote the text for it and designed the layout. You’ll find many of my family recipes (and family sayings) in this book, which was put together in a ridiculously short length of time, raiding my mum and aunt’s old cookery books for clippings, adverts and tips. There are fab original graphics by Hugo Breingan (including some incredible stains and tea-cup rings) and an iconic cover by Mark Mechan that looks like grannies’ recipe books all over the country, and of course classic strips from The Broons themselves.
